I hope that you get some expert opinion on this.
My related knowledge concerns not just the ennvironment in general but possible personal dangers that should be of concern.
A friend was sick all one winter, until his doctor found that he was burning Ash wood in his fireplace. The smoke backing into his home, because of limited draft, was the culprit.
Then thru my own limited investigation, I learned that Ash and Chinese Tallow are dangerous in fireplaces and definitely NOT TO BE USED in BBQ.
