|
|
Hello,
I recently purchased some zeolite to use as kitty litter. I know this is a great soil amendment, but is it ok to put it directly on the lawn after using it as kitty litter? I do not currently have a compost pile...thus the question.
I plan on removing the poop and only placing the zeolite itself (with ammonia from cat urine) on the lawn. I realize there will be some "poop transfer" to the litter, but will it be miniscule enough to not worry about composting it?
Thanks in advance,
Dom |

| I wouldn't have a worry about, but - composting first would be better. |

Great News! I'll eventually start composting, but until then I'll just spread the nitrogen-rich zeolite in my yard.
Thanks again,

| I spread it straight out of the litter box. I applied it deeply to an area I wanted to build up over a tree root. Basically I smothered the grass for a full season, but by the next season you couldn't tell where the root or litter were. |
