A weed can be defined as a plant growing where something else is desired. If so, grass in a rose bed is probably a weed. And, a rose bush on a golf green? ;)

Mostly I've heard that wildflowers are a symptom of weak soil. However by growing there they will be contributing to improving the soil. As will you by using organic/sustainable programs. Note, we are talking about programs, not just products.
