I saw a mention in another post that potassium bicarb can be dusted on Poa when its wet to kill it. Anyone had any luck with this? Pros and cons?

I don't want to use vinegar at this point because my St. Augustine and Bermuda are both active right now and I don't want to set those back. But it turns out that my husband is extremely allergic to the poa. So...I know its going to die anyway when it gets warmer but I want to get rid of it NOW! Any thoughts?
