Should my lantana plants be leafing out yet? They were planted last year and did great all summer; I mulched them well over winter.

From my experience, they tend to wait until it is warmer. Search the site or the Internet for additional info.

I'm in W Plano & mine have not started to come back. Well, I haven't looked today...
Did you cut back the dead growth? I've read that you should & I've read that you shouldn't. I've done both & don't see a difference, except it seems the new growth has a harder time coming thru the old.

They wait until it's a little warmer. You can scratch the wood and see if it's still green. If it is, just wait.

I thought all my lantana was gone but it has started coming back in my perennial beds within the last week. With the exception of my butterfly weed, most of my perennials have either re-seeded or are coming back from their roots. I trimmed everything heavily after our first hard freeze.

thanks everyone, I've been checking everyday to see what's coming back from last year. Almost everything is except the lantana, but I certainly haven't given up. I love Spring - we're landscaping our back yard ourselves (xeriscape) - it's a lot of work, but finished prep. today for another bed and are ready for planting - finally, the fun part!

yes, I did cut back dead growth after the freeze and mulched it very well, so I think it'll be fine.
