Alternative to Muenster?

My dog (Jack Russell Terrier) has to be tricked into eating Muenster. We have to dice up little chunks of chicken jerky or similar for her to eat it. She will go a day or two without eating it if nothing is in it, then reluctantly eat a mouthful then stop.
I've seen her go to her food (after not eating for a day or so) and sniff it, then walk away. She HAS to be hungry!
I've switched from regular Muenster to the newer lamb & rice with the same results.
Are there any ideas for alternatives to Muenster that are also organic and/or natural?

This is probably going to be met with screams from some people but this is what we do w/our 'Fegal'-"Honey". (fox terrier/beagle)

After cooking-in a cast iron skillet, of course-I pour her food in the skillet & stir it around. There's just enough juice, gravy, whatever to lightly coat the food. Seems to keep her happy. (and severely spoiled) If this is not an option, sometimes a teaspoon of cottage cheese mixed in her food does the trick.

My yellow lab loves muenster dog food but it doesn't like him. He throws it up after eating it. I'll never use it again. A better alternative would be good for us as well.

I have finally found a dog food for my pack of seven canines that they love! It is Natural Balance Organic Formula. Metro Pet Services sells it and delivers it to my door each week. The chicken is free range and human grade meat. Their web site is www.metropetservices.com
Try it and it is reasonably priced! My dogs hated Meunster.

We can't get Muenster in Katy. We have started feeding a combination of dry and raw diet to our kids -- primarily changing their food due to all of the recalls and short of making their food....this is working GREAT!

The dry is "Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul". A 35 lb bag is around $30 at our local Farm Store. It does have preservatives in it, I don't always understand the preservative names on the bag to know what is considered "ok", but our dogs LOVE it. It has Chicken, turkey, duck, salmon, all types of fruits/veggies, Rosemary, Parsley, Flaxseed, Grains, and Chicory Root. The lady at the Farm store kept stressing to me that all of her foods she sells are at least 90% absorb-able and this particular dry kibble is at 93%.

The raw is " Nature's Variety" - 95% meeat, 5% fruits/veggies. It was $15 for 6lb bag (12 patties). Our kids are 2 90-100lb labs, so the raw diet wasn't in our budget. They would need 3.5 patties each per day! We supplement and twice a week, they each get 1 patty in addition to their dry dinner.

They absolutely LOVE both of these foods. We have had less pooh in our yard, their coats are beautiful and so are their teeth and eyes.

Our dogs love it. We have an Irish Setter and a Black Mouth Mountain Cur Dog, yes it is a breed.

You can try putting chicken broth on it, 1 T plain yogurt, 1T cottage cheese good for their coats.

Another brand, thats delivered to your door organic no presertaves, is Flint River.

Once I found it I fed Muenster alone to both of my German Shepherds, all of the cats I've owned and a horse or two. I've found that some dogs prefer different flavors, so you may try mixing one of the other formulas to what you are feeding now. Also, adding an organic chicken broth is a good idea. Try some samples - wherever you get or used to get Muenster should offer free samples of the various flavors - maybe the new chicken and rice?

I've not found a dog food better, but then once i found this, I never looked further. But I had my dogs on several other things before I found it. Also, you might try mixing in The Missing Link - especially if you can't get them to eat the Muenster for some reason. Replaces the flax and the other trace nutrients and missing nutrition often cooked out of the foods.

Seems funny to me that you have to trick your pets into eating this stuff. I'm sure it's good for them if you start them on it when they're babies, but the cat food makes my cats throw up. Had to take them off of it.

I dont call that tricking your dog into eating Muenster dog food. I add the yogurt or cottage cheese for their coats--show dogs.

I understand giving them cottage cheese etc. My cats love any kind of cheese. But adding chicken broth, etc seems a little "tricky". Has anyone else had problems with cats throwing up when they switched them to Muenster? I'd really like to give them something better than Purina "Naturals" (although they LOVE it!), and I slowly added the new food, but as soon as it gets to more than 50/50 they get sick, even with other stuff mixed in.
