My new fruit trees are doing good, just happen to have found worms in my plums. I'm afraid I should have plucked off the fruit (plum and peach) this first year but haven't yet. I have a pear tree, no fruit set so no worry there this year. Please advise me on what to do about the fruit - pluck now? - and on the worm situation. I was about to make up some sort of insecticide, but don't really know what kind, etc. I'm full of questions about this issue. We have Mexican Plums all over our little bit of land, don't know why the worms are attacking these because there are no wild plum trees in the immediate area where I just planted these four trees.
Thanks in advance for any help.
