| After a girdling root has been cut at either end, is there a treatment the tree should be given to lessen the shock of the amputation? |

There may be some brews & such will be suggested by others.
My main concern would be to see that the final cut on the "tree side" is a good "pruning" cut located to encourage the potential replacement roots to grow well.
Take care.

| As Craig stated, the main thing is to have a clean, smooth cut. Some people clean wounds with household peroxide & apply tree trunk goop. |
