I've seen some type of white mites around the base of these perennials, just below the soil surface. I was wondering if someone could identify what they are. They are very small (so small I couldn't get a clear picture with my camera) and white...that's about all I can think of to describe them. I'm assuming the garlic/pepper tea would take care of them, although I've put it out once a couple weekends ago and they are still there. Any help would be appreciated.

A couple weeks ago? It has rained since then. You need to reapply the Garlic pepper tea and other repellent sprays after it rains.

Are these mites with legs? Could it be scale? What plants? Native?
