I have taken pictures of my mystery tree. Can anyone identify it for me please? Also how do I attach the pictures.

First, do you have your pics somewhere in a file on your 'puter? Ok, then go to a website like photobucket.dom even I did this! :) Upload to your 'album' there & you'll have-usually-3 lines under each pic. The 3rd line will give you a pic in your post, not just a 'link' to it. So highlight that line. It will 'copy' for you. Then go to this site & post, go to 'edit' & paste.

Good luck-

Patty

Great pictures! It almost looks like a douglas fir. I looked in the Texas Trees book & still don't know what it is.

Someone will know...

Have you seen the cones on your mystery tree? That could be a key identifier. Look at the 1st link I provided above to see how different the Deodar cedar cones are.

The Dr. that owns the business where this tree is located said there are cones on it. He doesn't know what kind of tree it is either but we would both like to know. He has been saving seeds from the cones. Can he grow this tree from seed?

I don't know about growing it from seed, I thought we wanted to ID it first. Can you look at the cones to see if it matches the ones on the link? If you ID it, then you may be able to research how easy it is to grow from seed.

Yes, I'm going to check the cones. I have to go by the Dr.'s office & ask him if the pictures match what he has. I'm going to call him this morning. I did find a web-site that sold the seeds and the trees in pots. From what they say the Deodar Cedar is easy to grow from seeds. Anyway, yes, ID is first.
