| I have 60 acres of post oaks. I have about a half dozen around my travel trailer I would like ti trim up so that I can walk under them and mow. I realize that I need to leafe 4-6 inches so a proper collar can form. My question. Is there a trick to keeping shoots from growing out at the base of the stub? |

| There is no one dimension that works for all prunning cuts. The key is to protect the branch collar and it will stick out from the trunk farther on larger limbs than on smaller limbs. The branch collar will also be larger and require more stub left on some varieties than on other varieties. See the photos in the Library. If I need to add more, I will. |
