I have a watermelon plant that came up voluntarily, probably from some compost I bought. Right after I got my front flowerbed planted and looking good with groundcover, herbs, and other plants, I started having several different plants popping up that I knew I had not planted. One I was pretty sure was tomato plant and the other I was not sure but I thought it was squash. I had not taken the time to find out what it was until now. After all the rain and the plant producing huge leaves I found out it is watermelon. I was not planning on having vegetables growing in my front flowerbed especially a GIANT watermelon plant. So I need to know if I transplant it to an area that gets the same amount of light should I expect it to live? It has blooms on it. I would love to have watermelons produced but not in my front flowerbed.
