Bald Eagles were recently removed from the list of endangered and threatened species list. In 1963 there were only 417 know nesting pairs of Bald Eagles in the "lower 48."

There are now an estimated 11,000 pairs.

A good place to see Bald Eagles in the North Texas area is to take a late fall or winter trip to the Denison dam below Lake Texoma.
