I made my first trek out to Metro Maples. In a tree nerd type of way, I was amazed. I've looked at and bought numerous containerized trees from other growers/nurseries and 100% of them had some form of birds nest roots and/or circling roots ranging from bad to horrible.
Metro Maples' trees were the healthiest I've seen. No circling roots, no birds' nest -- just healthy trees in good, healthy soil. The flares were visible on virtually every tree. The health of the trees looked fantastic as well.
I picked up a couple of fire dragon maples, a ginkgo, and a bigtooth. I've got several mature trees on my lot that don't have long to live and I will be looking at more maples just to give me an excuse to use these trees. Night and day compared to other nurseries.
It was definitely worth the 1 hour drive out there. I regret buying a Shantung from another nursery a year ago--not doing well, bad roots, you name it... |

Metromaples.com -- his prices are on the website. Very good prices, in my opinion. I would have paid much more after seeing the health of these trees...
It's worth the drive. |
