I didn't plant one of my containerized trees for a couple of weeks. With all the rain, it overwatered the tree and actually caused mold to grow on the bottom of the root ball.

The leaves are a little curled. I went ahead and took all the mold off and planted the tree per HG's recommendations.

Any other advice?

Any advice? If it will cause long term problems, I can always replace it while it is still a good time to plant.

If its just a temporary problem due to overwatering, I'll just give it some TLC and see how it does.

Thanks again...

I'm sure not the expert but I may have added some corn meal to the hole.
Or now you could make some cornmeal tea & drench it.
If you planted it while the root ball was wet, that's a good thing.
Don't want to make tea? Sprinkle some around the tree.
Bet it'll be OK.

Thanks!

Alright...sprayed my Garrett Juice and put down some cornmeal. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The top half seems to have recovered fine -- healthy green leaves. The bottom half is still wilted (although the branches are still alive).
