This year's Great Backyard Bird Count is Feb. 15-18. This is a joint effort by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Audubon. The name no longer quite fits, as you can count birds anywhere you see them, and report your sightings on the GBBC web site. It's free to participate and its fun to look at the reports that come in from all over the country. Participants are invited to send in photographs. Prizes awarded in a drawing and to best photographs.
