Hi...ya'll...
We are the Curtindobbers. We joined this website in 2002 when we moved to Colleyvillle onto a half acre lot with NO lawn grass...just the volunteer weeds. We now have only one small area that is not totally covered with plush St. Augustine. We accomplished this with only spot planting and organics. We use Lady Bug, lava sand, horticultural cornmeal, corn gluten, green sand and dry molasses. We have several trees that look really good now. We have a bald cypress, sweetgum and red oak in the front of the house that faces south...and a magnolia, an oak(not sure what kind), 2 live oaks and 2 crept myrtles on the west. There's a pear tree, a huge Arizona Ash that measures about 12' around, and a cherry laurel in the back (north of the house). Anywhere you dig in our yard you disturb many earthworms. It was fun watching the wasps carry off the webworms this year.
We enjoy using the organics and beam with pride at the positive changes that have occurred at our place. We are excited to continue to learn and appreciate this site to help us. Your reply to our posts is appreciated.
