Can anyone help with a question about property near Forestburg, about an hour northwest of Lewisville, Texas? The soil is very sandy. Does anyone know if blueberries would do well in this type of soil or this area? It is quite a bit colder there than the Dallas area, e.g. today it was 30 there and 37 in Lewisville.

Also, somewhat related: The property was a peanut farm years ago, probably more than 20 or 25 years since it was farmed. Would the pesticides that were probably heavily used in those days still be lingering in the soil, or have they likely detoxed themselves?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I would think they would do just fine. I'm from Southwest Michigan and blueberries are grown there commercially so I don't see why not as they are native to North America. Blueberry season is roughly May-October depending where you live.
