| I have an 8-10 year old pecan that just this year has very perfect about 3/8 inch holes all over the trunk and some of the limbs. What is the cause and what can I do to save the trees. |

| It's a woodpecker making those holes. They wouldn't be doing that if there wasn't some rotten wood with a bunch of insects in it. How has the tree been doing prior to you noticing this? Any change in the tree the last year or 2? Any injury to the tree (other than what the birds did)? |

| Thanks Sandih. I suspected a woodpecker, but we have never seen one near the tree. No, it was fine last year and I honestly did not pay much attention to it over the winter since this is out at the "farm". We did have to take out a 15+ year old oak just a few weeks ago that we had planted and it was in bad stress. Had used sick tree treatment last couple of years trying to save it and have been organic there for about 15 years. Any ideas on how to save the pecan. |

Any idea why the other tree was so stressed? Other than trying to determine why it's stressed and correcting it, along with the sick tree treatment...I do not.
Look to tree experts out there to help |
