I am looking for something tall - 8-15' - and upright for large pots that will not be moved indoors in the fall. The location is very hot in the summer. Will settle for deciduous if flowering or fruit attracts birds and butterflies. Prefer native Texas, but I have all sorts of aliens in pots. Any suggestions?

You could get a buddleia! Can be very tall or controlled w/ pruning in winter. Here's a link of the different varieties. They do very well here in full sun and butterflies galore..they don't call it the butterfly bush for nothing.
