Citrus oil sprays, garlic and hot pepper sprays, canola oil and liquid soap sprays, and neem oil sprays.

Happy Gardening!

OK that's different!

I believe neem oil and pyretheum sprays work great indoors.
I not sure about vinegar sprays if they will work against these flies indoors.

I know boric acid products (powder and sprays) are great for pest control of ants and roaches indoors. Not sure about fruit flies.

Ahh, you didn't mention that. You would have to have something in your house that draws them. They don't appear for no reason. Sometimes if I have bananas in my house for a couple of days I will see one. Check any garbage area, even a small waste basket in a bedroom where someone could have tossed an apple core or a banana peel. Just a thought...

Over- ripe fruit is often the culprit. Those insects flying around can be killed with the orange oil sprays. Pyrethrum shouldn't be used outdoors, much less indoors. It is far too toxic to be acceptablr in an organic program.

My solution for fruit flies is first to remove the over-ripening fruit that is attracting them. Just put it in the frige for the time being. Then clean the area where the fruit was. If there's nothing for the fruit flies to feed on, they will die. Last resort is to pour bleach in my garbage disposer and kitchen drain - that usually does it. A friend told me she keeps a small white bowl of water with some lemon dish soap - it's supposed to attract fruit flies, but that didn't work for me.
