:( I am having severe problems with fungus in my St. Augustine lawn. I have used corn meal but that did not seem to do the trick. Living in Tampa, we have had very strange weather for the last three weeks, cloudy all day and about ten inches of rain so that the grass never had a chance to dry out. My extent of organic lawns has been slightly over one year. Last year I had no problems with fungus but the weather was more normal.

I just put a batch of cornmeal tea on the lawn with the hopes that may be better than the dry corn meal. Can anyone tell me how often I should put down the cornmeal tea? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using horticultural corn meal or just corn meal. The horticultural corn meal seems to work better with fungus'. They also have mentioned doing a baking soda treatment on your lawn.

First of all I want so say :) "thanks" for your help. Yes, I only used the regular corn meal, no horticultural corn meal available in this area of Florida, at least that I could find. I used the same regular corn meal last year, my first organic year, and I had no fungus.

I tried your baking soda formula the end of last week and will let you know how things progress. With the hurricane this last week, Tampa was in a vacuum, I only received 1/2 inch of rain.
