I just recently harvested bluebonnet seeds. I am wondering when to scatter the seeds to start blue bonnets growing in another area. Any suggestions?

Right now. Just as nature does it. We should always ask the question "how does nature do it?" as we work organically. :D

:D Maggie:

Glad you are into bluebonnets.

As mentioned; how do you see them in the wild?

As I understand them, they bloom twice, although you won't notice them in the late summer or fall. They are setting up for spring.

Try a web site www.wildseedfarms.com in Fredricksburg, Tx. They have a bluebonnet that is Red and White called Alamo Fire. This will be my first try with them this year.

I planted ours late last fall....mid November I think.
The key is keeping the soil moist for a couple of weeks. That may be hard to do in the middle of summer.

We had very beautiful blue bonnets this spring.
