I have some 10 acres in east texas and am plagued with grass burrs. Soil is very sandy. I have applied corn gluten and humate (last year) and could notice no improvement...if anything the burrs are thriving.
any advise? thanks wowd |

| CGM didn't work very well as a herbicide last year because of the long wet period. You still got the fertilizer and soil building value and it will take less material this year to do the trick. You might also try adding some dry molasses and humate. As soon as humic acid is present and active in the soil, grass burrs will be no more. |

| How much humic acid? How do you know when it is active? Applying liquid as effective as dry? |

I spend alot of time at a resort near Decatur I want to encourage them to use more organic products. We have a real problem with GRASS BURRS.
When is the best time of year to put out CGM and in what quantity. Also what are the rates you would recommend for dry molasses and humate. I may be taking on the projet of controlling the grass burrs myself in some of the target area's and I need to determine the cost per acre and application schedule. |
