The power company has very recently gone through cutting tree limbs away from power lines. They took the limbs and shredded them -- leaves, limbs and all. The resulting mulch contains everything from cedar to pecan. They gave us a couple of loads. Can I use it now or do I need to wait for a while? Thanks for the info. EddieMae
it's probably fine to use now as a top dressing, holding moisture and shading roots of your shrubs, trees, etc....
it won't work well as compost, because, well, it has'nt composted yet...the woodier it is the longer it will take to break down, so i would not mix into the soil for a couple of years....
