hello from fort worth, was so glad to hear about dirtdoctor. my question is how can i get rid of over powering bamboo trees that started with my neighbor and now starting to take over my back yard? for the last 10 years i have spent every spring and summer digging up roots and cutting down the trees, please help.
It's a waste of time to dig up the roots every year. Sever the rhizhomes where you don't want the bamboo to grow. Let the shoots come up in spring to their full height, and then cut the culms down. This exhausts the severed roots. Email me if you need any further assistance.
thanks for answering my question, I'm just overwhelmed with the amount of new grow everytime I cut one down, I get more and just seems like an endless battle. I have one coming up against the side of the south end of my house and I have cut it down and new growth comes up, I'm desperate.
I'm not sure you're processing exactly what I'm saying, but I do unerstand you're frustrated. Just like owning a dog, with bamboo, you either are the master or it is. Maybe it's time to hire a professional?
You need to find someone with or sells acid,I do alot of trail building and the city sends out a guy with a little bottle of acid, that's green in color, this tends to kill the bambo .
