I read in the Dirt Doctors book Texas Gardening the Natural Way that the Dirt Doctor says to use greensand in preparing the flower and shrub beds, but in the Library on this site under bed preparation greensand is omitted. I live in Charlotte, NC and we have red clay if that influences the use of greensand. My question is do I include greensand in bed prep or not?

In Texas greensand is important because our soil is very alkaline. Yours is more acidic so I'd leave out the greensand.
