I would like to know if anyone can tell me where I can find Buffalo Sod at a reasonable price? I would like to Sod about 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre. I would prefer Sod, as opossed to seed, to speed up the looks of my new home. I live in Ellis County. If sod is going to be too expensive any sugestions on seeding would be helpful.

On Howards show yesterday a person called in with a questions about if buffalo grass is better to plant from seed or sod. His reply was to go with solid sod because the seed is so slow that other grasses and or weeds will grow faster and crowd out the buffalo grass. I heard once that to get a good looking buffalo lawn that it takes at least three years since it so slow growing. I put down burmuda seeds instead because I don't want to wait the three years. In three weeks, my burmuda is up about 3 - 4 inches.
Sorry about the bad news, but I was just passing along what I heard.

I don't know which way would be better, but if you go seed, www.turnerseed.com has buffalo grass seed. They are a great place to order from. I ordered one day and just a day or two later I had my order in my hands. They are very helpful and prompt.
