I bought a bag to spread on the yard for chiggars and circled the perimeter of the veggie garden but I'm sure the chiggars are already in there. Is it safe to spread it on the vegetables too?

If you know that your soil is too alkaline, then you can apply it at 5lbs per 1,000 square feet twice annually. You should not over apply.
