I'm guessing you have a bermuda lawn. You don't say where you live but you could switch to St Augustine and the chiggers will go away. I'm not sure why that is, but it seems to work.

Here is a cure that I have used before;buy some B-1 tablets and crush about 10 with a little water in a bowl and make a paste,then apply that to your lower legs or anywhere else your getting bit,just a warning these tablets real smell/stink.
