Chorotic loropetalum. My Chinese fringe flower shrubs have an overall chartreuse color with green veins. It's January and I'm afraid to give them acidifying fertilizer with nitrogen in it, but I know they need something. They look so bad they may die in the upcoming stress of summer. Would Texas greensand be a good acidifier without encouraging winter growth spurt? Or should I chill till spring?

You can mix in some acidified organic compost or soil mixture, such as what you would use for azaleas or blueberries. I've learned over the last year that they do prefer a more acidic environment which is why they are chlorotic.
