 Post subject: Compost, manure, or cover crop on new lot

We have a new one acre lot that's been roughly scraped and graded but we won't even start building for several months. Is it worth it to do anything now: spread compost, manure (if I can find it, Cedar Hill area???), or plant a cover crop? I'm worried stuff will either wash away, or so many weeds will grow that I'll have to scrape off whatever I do. Comments, suggestions?? Thanks friends.

Now and everday, is the time to start building up your soil.
I love using a combination of all methods like composting, cover crops, mulching, and aerated compost teas, in order to get plenty of organic matter, humus, and microbes working in my soil at all times.
