This weekend I was given three HUGE crinum lilies. I'm going to have to dig a pretty deep hole for them, so it's going to be several days before they get back in the ground. I've put them in a bucket of seaweed water. Does that sound like the right thing to do? Any suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks so much for your response. I'm hoping that they'll pull through, but they don't look too good. The leaves have yellowed and died back some. I don't know what else to do for them - if I should trim them or give them a drench of garrett juice. Any ideas?

If you tug gently, do they resist being pulled up?
If not, they haven't established any roots, which means the bulb might have become waterlogged & "drowned".
If they were mine, I'd probably trim the foliage & let them dry out a little.
How long were they in the water?
How long have they been in the ground?
Crinums are so beautiful, & once they're established they're really tough plants.
I hate for you to lose them because no one posts an informed reply.
Isn't some knowledgeable person reading this?
Can you help?
I did tug them yesterday, so I think that they must have rooted. I trimmed the yellow leaves off of one to see if that helped. I also watered them with more garrett juice and extra seaweed. They were in the water for a few days, but they've been in the ground for a couple of weeks. I sure hope they pull through!
Thanks for your help with this. I appreciate it.
