Howard,

On last Sunday's show I heard you offer a solution for pest control in walls. I am about to remodel part of my house about 100 sq ft, remove wood siding and replace. I believe the mixture was 90% DE (SOIL MENDER ) and 10% Boric acid. Is that correct? Also, do I just put in the wall when I am replacing siding? Thanks for your help.

I put 1 tablespoon in every wall cell when we had insulation blown in. I believe it is much less expensive than DE but I could be wrong. We remodeled a few years ago and the city required a before and after pest inspection. I asked the guy about what to use and suggested boric acid. He said that boric acid was every bit as effective as the chemicals he uses and it lasts a lot longer. So that's what we did and he had it okayed with the city.
