MERCY!
What a day. You know how you look at things over and over and you know something is strange but you just don't know what? Friday as we prepared for the freeze we noticed that our peppers were being ate by something. So we figured rabbits, rats or mice. This morning before the show I went by to determine the damage from the freeze. Friday I sprayed with seaweed and plant wash early in the day before I left for the day and covered the tomatoes and peppers with hay. Then that storm roled through Rockwall and dropped 1" of rain and blew off my hay.

Needless to say my peppers and tomatoes will be replanted this coming week. Then I noticed that the onion tops were gone, look to the left and my blackberries had no leaves. Looking toward my fruit trees and I could have Sworn that they had leafed out as well! I called Ms Daisy and told her that things just did'nt seem right.

On the way home from the show this morning I got a call from one of my neighbors that we had visitors in my garden.

GOATS HAVE DEVASTATED OUR GARDEN!!

Fruit trees, tomatoes, peppers, blackberries, and onions have suffered greatly. I spent all afternoon putting goat fencing on the barb wire fence to keep out the neighbors goats.

What a bummer! I think the onions and blackberries will be OK but I think we have lost half our fruit trees and between the goats and the freeze all the tomatoes and peppers are gone.

Oh well! Live and learn. Will keep you posted

a lot of us may be in the same situation after this frost warning passes. Here in NC they are forecasting 34 degree low tonight  It's always easier the second time though.
Good luck!

You know, I've been at this for more than thirty years and all that time the older guys have always said here in Texas to wait for Easter. I guess I'm going into that category and maybe this time it will kick in! Early or late, will not be planting until after Easter!
