I was just wondering about composting our dogs' droppings. We have 4 shelties, feed them a natural diet and only have to "collect" about once every 3-4 weeks. We'd like to add the dog manure to our compost pile, but wonder if we need to add anything else to balance.

Currently we add house hold scraps, shredded paper, lawn clippings and dried Johnson grass. I occsionally throw in a handful of dried molasses.

Due to microbes and insects, my dog's droppings disappear in 4 days during the summer. There is nothing to collect. In the winter I compost them. You pile sounds diverse enough to handle the droppings without any help.
