OK, if I was having trouble getting my pile warm before, now I'm really in a bind!
How do I get it going again? I had bought some molasses to mis with water to try to warm things up, but hadn't quite gotten around to it yet.
My piles are pretty simple - just a plain ol chicken wire enclosure. I had recenlty split them, so I had one that would finish up in time for spring & the other one for on-going kitchen scraps etc. I had also been thinking of getting some of that black plastic to sheild them somewhat - hadn't quite figured out how to do it exactly to keep the sides up, kwim?
don't worry about it all today, once the snow begins to melt, sprinkle 5 lbs. of dry molasses on each one, water it in (the snow may do this). that should get it going.

Thanks! As we all know by now, the snow wasn't really much of a threat, was it? I'm hoping for some nice weather this weekend to get out & work a bit in the yard *crossing fingers*
