please help me, something has happened to my lawn in the past few days, I mowed it about a week ago and it looked fine, we've had pleanty of rain here in Richardson and although I haven't turned on my sprinkler this summer yet, I don't think water is the issue. What it looks like is a prankster has poured gasoline or roundup in my yard. What can I do???

Sorry for the delayed reply, but what is the status of your lawn now? It really did look like something was done it it. With most fungal diseases you'll see spotting on the leaves, and I didn't see that.
Let's assume it was a fungal disease. In that case, and since I didn't see any evidence of reddish fungal growth, I would have applied ordinary corn meal at 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet to the entire lawn.
Now let's assume it was treachery. In that case I would have done the same thing. This is one of the beautiful things about organic lawn care. If you just take good care of it and feed it, it should be pretty good. And the cure for most ills is the same good care.

You might also want to do a cinch bug test. Take a coffee can with both ends cut out and push it down into the soil, fill with water half way and if they are present, they'll come out floating or doing the backstroke.
If you have them, dust with de and topdress with compost.
Seems like it started at the sidewalk, which is where the heat is greatest due to reflected heat. You may not be needing to water the whole lawn, but keep an eye on those edges.
Good luck!
