My wife and I have been trying to identify a wildflower that is growing on our property. We finally found what it was according to a site we found but were totally confused when we saw a "foxglove" in a 1 gallon pot being sold at Home Depot which really didn't look like the wildflower called "foxglove". I don't have the scientific name that was on the 1 gallon container at Home Depot but the link will show you what we have on our property. The Home Depot "foxglove" was about 2 1/2 foot tall and did not have the jaged edges like the wildflower.
You have a penstemmon. The foxglove sold at Home Depot is probably a digitalis. The Digitalis is the large, showy garden flower. Yours is the wildflower. They probably sell the penstemmons at Home Depot, too.

Thanks leigh. Our foxglove is prettier than Home Depot's! I'm going to find out more info on the digitalis since it really was pretty... Thanks for the help!
You're quite welcome. There are a number of colors and varieties of each-- probably at the Home Depot. Husker's Red Penstemmon was quite popular last year or the year before.
