just outside Waco, the area I live has clay like soil. After building raised garden beds and heavily amending the soil, I planted 4 varieties of garlic that should grow well here.
I've done all the research I could do, and am still not sure about the watering needs of freshly planted garlic.
Will someone please comment and advise? thank you so much Frankie
In the winter, I water it weekly unless we have a rain. As it warms, I may water more if the ground is drying. Usually a deep watering once a week is enough.
or hand water..it's only once a week. If you do use a drip, then check it to ensure that you've left it on long enough to saturate down to where the cloves are. It's hard to tell the output on a drip. Water during the winter as well. Once they've emerged, fertilize, with an organic veggie/herb food, every 2-3 weeks.
