I am trying to grow a Fuyu Persimmon in my backyard. It get lot's of Sun and is watered about 3 times a week. This winter at the very base, where the trunk ends and disspaears into the soil it looks like it lost some bark on the circumference. I wonder if it is strong enough now to withstand the gusty winds we get here. and now the leaves are turining yelloe. This is only the 2nd year since we planted it, should we trim it or remove all the BUDs.

Sounds like you're drowning the poor thing. Lay off the water and ucover the base of the tree.
