Want to know if Gala will work in Austin. Also, how to plant it. I read that you are supposed to cut it down to 24" once planted so it looks like a stick in the ground. Read this on the A&M U website. Is this true?

Thanks!
Michele

Yes it will and the only reason to cut the plant back severely is if you want to damage it and delay the top growth the first season.
