Help! For the first time in 20 years, we have been inundated with pesky grass burrs. It is very difficult to find a spot for the dogs to walk in without having to brush out at least 30 or 40 burrs afterwards. Is there anything that is successful in getting rid of it?

Organic fertilizer and water gets rid of it. Grass burrs are a sign that your soil is losing fertility.
Find some pieces of old carpet, put one upside down on the grass burrs, walk on the carpet, and lift it off. Then discard the carpet in the trash. Probably any fabric would do the same job. Repeat as necessary to get all the stickers up. That will help get rid of the current stickers. Then the fertilizer and water should fix the soil so you don't get them again.
