How do I begin to go organic with our lawn? I listen to Howard on the radio, and the information he provides seems to be for people who are much more knowledgable than I. To keep it simple, what is the best "first step" in developing a healthy lawn the natural way? I have used chemical fertilizers in the past, the last being a "weed & feed" in March of this year. Right now my yard is about half covered with small, white, flowering weeds. Where do I start?

We all started the same way. I read all the posts, study all the links provided, and listen to the Dirt doctor when ever possible. Just remember that the organic way is the only healthful way to garden, Also, in the long run, it is much cheaper as well. It does not require as much water, nor as much fertilizer, You can organically fertilizer any time you want because it is slow release and much much better for the plants. Don't forget to folair feed your plants. I am a true believer in this method. My garden is still producing as much as this summer. Doing much better every time a folair feed it. By the way, this is the first year for my garden, new house, in this 'Texas Dirt' aka clay.
