Thanks for the advice, especially the part about Neil Sperry. ha! I will pass it on to my daughter. She cut the nandina back severely and it came back with a vengence but perhaps she didn't cut it close enough. It is really a large bush. I would love to have it but she doesn't want it.

My husband and I have transplanted fully grown nandinas with no ill effects. Even if you don't get all the roots, you could probably still get a successful transplant.
