Do you have time to do some reading? I suggest to anyone who is managing any size land, especially several acres to read a wonderful bood by Sir Albert Howard "Soil and Health". For propagation, Lewis Hill has a wealth of good information in "Secrets of Plant Propagation".
Acorns should be planted in a slightly tilted position, tops removed and poking up from the soil about halfway or two thirds the way under the soil. This is what I know. I have had success with some Langtry Oak acorns this way!
