We have a creek at the back of our property that pools up, is green and murky, and has a nasty film on top. What can we do to clear up the water there? We have some nice large white rocks that overhang the creek and want to do some nice landscaping back there, but with the water the way it is, it isn't a pretty sight.

I have an untried theory. In my theory you need more oxygen in the water. One way to do that is to create a fountain in the pond. Somehow you would have to squirt water into the air and when it returns to the pond it brings some air with it.
Something else you can try is to fill a sock with ordinary corn meal and tie it closed with a long string. Toss the sock into the pond for a couple days and pull it out. You can compost the corn meal when you're finiished or scatter it around the garden.

There is a product you can use called Bio Inoculate. There are three different versions of this product. The one you want has blue lettering on the label. Call around to the places listed in the business directory to find who carries it. You might be able to use the product with green lettering on the label, but I know you could use the product with the blue lettering.
Call J. C. Hayes at 940-458-5400 if you want further instruction. Tell him Nadine referred you.

Bio Inoculate:
The label with the green text is microbes. Lots and lots of microbes.
Humate has been added to the microbes in the container with brown text on the label.
The product with blue text on the label is for use in water.
