I spent Labor Day enjoying the rain and doing some stoop labor - preparing the dirt in my new raised beds after taking out the summer plants, refreshing the compost, and generally messing around and enjoying the cool, rainy day. These beds receive about 6-8 hours of full sun and have a drip irrigation system installed. I have never had a fall garden, and I would like your suggestions or ideas about what might work here. I live in Dallas - with our first frost date being mid-November.
You can also grow more tomatoes (some types), carrots, broccoli, and several types of cool weather herbs like basil and chammomile. I'm putting mine in now! Have fun!

I still have most of my Spring tomato plants that have survived and they should start producing again soon. I also grow mustard greens, turnip greens, beets, zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers, corn, lettuce, and green beans. I have tried growing broccoli for several years without much success, so I'm pretty much giving up on that one. Oh yea, spinach is a good one that will live through the Winter months, at least it usually does.
