Have you tried pinching off ('deadheading') the spent blossoms? This is the technique I use on other flowering annuals to keep them blooming. Also, there is a product made by Rabbit Hill called "Blooms and Buds" that I used last years on my perennial borders and my annuals - and they bloomed like crazy! I think it is composted rabbit dung...it doesn't smell very flowery, but it works.
Good luck!
