My name is Bret, my wife and I are first time home owners, we live in a new sub division in east fort worth were 820e and 30 intersect. Our lot was completly void of trees, grass, or plants of any kind when we moved in (except weeds).
We have clay for soil, two dog who love to dig holes and chew up any thing we plant and I never realized how much mantaining grass cost. Anyway lets just say this first year has been a trial and ERROR! year. I think this forum will be a big help to my wife and I.

Welcome! I think you will find this message board quite helpful!
Dogs do dig! From what I understand, you might want to consider a dog run (if you want a yard).

I think you have the best opportunity there is! Well, except for the dogs playing havoc.
Check the library on the home page for all the info in the world. Spread dry molasses, TX green sand, lava sand, maybe humates, & of course compost. Then put down the grass of your choice. Good time to plan flower beds & vege garden too.
